The road past Pye’s studio on the island of Lismore inspired the late John MacVicar to write this haunting accordion song. With an emotional arrangement featuring bagpipes by John Sweeney this is a truly memorable record. The B-side is taken from the forthcoming album from the island’s own Dance Band and is a tune written by local teacher Jane Oxenard (herself one of the fiddle players) for longtime band fiddler Noelle Odling.
